Reproduction Gypsy Wife: Quilt-Along project, week 6

Well, there was just time for sewing, but not enough time for blogging this last week or so, so the posts for week 6 and 7 of the Quilt-Along will appear very close together!

Week 6 was a Star block, a fairly straightforward combination of HST (half-square triangles) en QST (Quarter-square triangles). Although those bias edges always want checking!

I decided to go for warm browns and creams with a touch of rusty red this week. Again the fabrics are mostly Judie Rothermel for Marcus Brothers Fabrics and Erin Turner for Penny Rose Fabrics.

So I cut out my triangles…

And sewed them together into rows…

And then sewed the rows into a block, and my Star Block was finished.

So the progress so far, after 6 weeks, looks like this, when compared to the whole quilt:
