Reproduction Gypsy Wife: Quilt-Along Project Week 9

Well, this week’s block is called Nurses Cross, and to be honest it made me a little cross: I found it rather fiddly and with a nasty and unexpected tendency to come out ever so slightly too small… Maybe it was the heat! It’s been very warm here this past week, around 90 F.

Jen Kingwell used 10 different fabrics in her version of the block. But in keeping with my Civil War Reproduction look, I narrowed that down to five and went for warm reds and browns with a dash of bright yellow. Once again the fabrics were a mix of Civil War Tribute by Judie Rothermel for Marcus Fabrics, Civil War Times by Erin Turner for Penny Rose Fabrics and Williamsburg by Windham Fabrics.

So I cut out my patches…

And sewed the block.

Which means we (the Quilt-Along participants) are now 9 weeks in and have made ten blocks (two in week 8).

So here are weeks 5 through 9:
