I’m posting this a bit later than planned due to intervention from the other world this week (and by that I mean the day-job non-quilting world, not something supernatural, but I wouldn’t want to call daily non-quilting life ‘the real world’ now would I? That would suggest that my quilting world is less real, and nothing could be further form the truth!).
Week 13 of the quilt along is another week of filler blocks, this time five Courthouse Steps blocks. I again made the blocks using a combination of my Civil War reproduction prints and my dusky Moda Marbles. The photo’s were taken at night (don’t ask!) and in spite of the full spectrum lighting in my studio, the colours are a little off, especially in the first block.
The first was and 8″ block, in reds and browns (yes, the outer strip is dark brown, not black).
Then a 7″ block in greens.
And a 5″ block in blues.
And finally two 4″ blocks, one in blue and burgundy and the other in yellow and ochre.
So that was week 13 of the Gypsy wife Quilt-Along.
The progress, compared to the original quilt, is shown below. Blocks constructed to date are cross-hatched in yellow.
