Not living particularly near any large quilt shops, I source a lot of my fabric and notions online. On my travels I have been lucky enough to finally visit some of these shops in person, and have met people I have been corresponding with and buying from for over 20 years. That’s a great experience.
The following sites may be of interest:
The Quilt Room: http://www.quiltroom.co.uk A lovely shop in Dorking, Surrey, with a great selection of fabrics and Jelly Rolls, great books and a long-arm quilting service.
Keepsake Quilting: http://www.keepsakequilting.com A shop in New Hampshire with a fabulous assortment (and more than one website) and a catalogue that is well worth sitting down for with a cup of coffee.
E Quilter: http://www.eQuilter.com Not a physical shop, but a truly vast selection of quality fabrics, notions, magazines, thread….. and a speedy service. Also a useful colour finding tool for matching fabrics and 2% of the purchase price goes to charity.
Fat Quarter Shop: http://www.FatQuarterShop.com Also an internet source: especially useful for small quantities of lots of fabrics and precuts, but also for yardage.
And because this is Ice Bear Quilts: Polar Bears International: http://www.polarbearsinternational.org An organisation dedicated to preserving the Polar Bear and other arctic wildlife.
